In November 2016, Ontario’s
Minister of Finance announced that the province was proceeding with plans to
establish a new Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), as recommended
by an advisory committee appointed by the ministry. The over-arching goal of this new
body is to foster a more innovative and dynamic business environment. It’s a
positive step, but there are changes ahead for Ontario insurance
