In this course, you will build on your work in prior FCIP courses and examine complex issues that pose significant strategic, leadership, financial, and risk management challenges for p&c organizations. Develop your skills in problem identification and analysis, research and evaluation of information, decision making, solution design, and report-writing.

Course goals

In this course, you will be challenged to:

  • Assess events and trends in the global context to weigh their implications for the p&c insurance industry
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how emerging issues can impact an insurance organization’s strategic priorities, finances, and risk management requirements
  • Research to achieve informed action, evaluating large volumes of information for credibility and relevance
  • Engage collaboratively with a project team to analyze a complex issue and develop recommendations
  • Evaluate various perspectives and assumptions that impact the p&c industry
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate complex information and ideas effectively

Prerequisites

In this course, you will apply concepts covered in the first four courses of the FCIP program. We strongly recommend that you successfully complete all of the following before beginning this course:

• F510 Strategy in the P&C Insurance Industry

• F520 Leading in the Insurance World

• F530 Financial Management for Insurance Leaders, and

• F540 Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in the Insurance Industry

FCIP courses are open to Institute members who have completed the CIP designation and met other FCIP admission requirements.
