Appraisals & Technology When a property loss occurs, a building consulting/appraiser can be a key member on a file to provide insight into the extent of the loss. Over the years, the tools that are readily available in this field have grown along with their technological capabilities. In this webinar, we showcase some of these tools, how they are used in the property claims process, and go through case examples in how they were utilized. Colin Young has over 20 years experience in the construction and insurance industry as a project manager, estimator, and consultant. Prior to his tenure at J.S. Held, he has been involved in estimating, project management, and on-site project monitoring on numerous loss assignments throughout Canada, the United States, Colombia, Dubai, Indonesia, South Africa, and Thailand. Colin was also involved with several high-profile aviation disasters over the years with the recovery and repatriation of personal effects. As a consultant Colin has been involved with many large-scale commercial losses in the Industrial, commercial, institutional and education sectors. With a strong background in large scale commercial mitigation, he has used this knowledge to assist in the mitigation of costs associated with the recovery work.
