Impacts and Opportunities for the Insurance Industry

This two-part series will explore the range of clean energy technologies and their implications for the insurance industry.

The November 2023 COP28 Conference highlighted the technologies needed to meet global greenhouse gas reduction targets. Canada, particularly Western Canada, has been advancing various clean energy sources, such as wind, solar, geothermal, and hydrogen, though some are less visible than others. This two-part series will explore the range of clean energy technologies and their implications for the insurance industry. As these projects often involve large infrastructure, understanding the key concepts is crucial for professionals involved in risk management and insurance.
