If you are a CIP graduate, a full-time student pursuing insurance, or the resident of a qualifying province, you are eligible to apply for one of our financial support offerings.

Rhind Bursary Program

Rhind Bursary Program

The Rhind Bursary program offers two (2) bursaries each year. The bursaries cover tuition, textbooks and exams for one course in the intended designation or certificate program. There are three tiers:
Designation students

CIP graduates pursuing their FCIP, ACIP or CMGA designations, who do not have financial support from their employer

Certificate students

CIP graduates pursuing the Risk Management, Commercial Insurance or MGA certificates, who do not have financial support from their employer

Dependent students

(If scholarships still remain) Dependents of CIP Society members who are pursuing the CIP designation, and do not have financial support from their employer

John E. Lowes Insurance Education Fund

John E. Lowes Insurance Education Fund

The John E. Lowes Insurance Education Fund is a charitable trust supporting Ontario residents pursuing post-secondary education in p&c insurance. The fund has been in operation since 1993 and offers up to four scholarships annually.
Eligibility

Scholarships are open to eligible Ontario residents pursuing full-time post-secondary studies in p&c insurance at a recognized college or university level. See the application form for full details.

Administration

The scholarships are offered through the John E. Lowes Insurance Education Fund and its trustees in partnership with the Insurance Institute of Ontario.

Lloyd King scholarship

Lloyd King Scholarship

Two financial scholarships are offered to Atlantic Canada residents pursuing full-time education at a university level.
Eligibility

Initial consideration will be given to applications from Newfoundland, followed by those from Nova Scotia and subsequently New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

History

The Lloyd King Scholarship is a charitable trust that has been in operation since 2009. It was created by Lloyd King, a past Chairman of the Insurance Institute, as a tribute to his continuing dedication to professionalism in the property/casualty insurance industry.

Alberta Grant

Alberta Insurance Council Grant

The Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) is offering scholarships to eligible Alberta residents pursuing their Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Advanced Chartered Insurance Professional (ACIP) or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) who do not have financial support from their employer. Up to $20,000 will be awarded annually to CIP, ACIP, or FCIP students.
