Quebec preparation sessions for Ontario broker licensing (RIBO)

Insurance brokers who operate in Ontario are governed by the Registered Insurance Brokers Act and licenced though the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO).

The Institut d’assurance du Québec now offers preparatory courses for professionals working towards acquiring their RIBO licence.

RIBO preparation course

Prepare for your RIBO licence in one of our instructor-led sessions with a range of tailored materials designed to help you succeed.  

Experienced instructor
Prepare for your exams in Quebec with the support of experienced industry trainer, Martin Desloges.

Training content will include:

  • The specifics of the Ontario insurance market.
  • The main regulatory differences between Quebec and Ontario.
  • Strategies and tips for passing the RIBO exam successfully.

Online and in-person learning
Our 21-hour videoconference training is designed to fit your schedule. We offer a two-hour session from 1 - 3 PM, Tuesday to Thursday. You will also have readings and exercises to complete outside of training hours.

Exams
In-person exams are computer-based and held at the Montreal office of the Institut d’assurance du Québec every first Wednesday of each month. You can register directly online via our website. **Although the preparatory training is offered in French, we remind you that the RIBO exams are delivered in English.
