Pathways to level 2
There are two options for you to achieve the education required by the Insurance Council of BC to obtain a level 2 General insurance agent licence:
Level 1 licensing course (GIE), C130 and C131
This route requires you to complete the level 1 licensing (GIE) program, plus two courses from the Insurance Institute of Canada’s CIP designation program:
- Level 1 licensing (GIE) course
- C130: Essential Skills for the Insurance Broker and Agent CIP
- C131: Advanced Skills for the Insurance Broker and Agent
C11, C130 and C131
This route requires you to complete three courses from the Insurance Institute of Canada’s CIP designation program:
- C11: Principles and Practice of Insurance
- C130: Essential Skills for the Insurance Broker and Agent
- C131: Advanced Skills for the Insurance Broker and Agent
