Licensing requirements 

Here is an overview of the Institute learning options that meet the educational requirements for each General insurance agent/broker licence. Review the complete requirements on the Nova Scotia Finance and Treasury Board website.

General insurance agent/broker licensing 

Level 1
We provide the education that helps you prepare for your Level 1 licensing exam in a number of study formats to suit your preferred learning mode. Find the learning options here.

Level 2
Level one requirements plus successful completion of C130.
We recommend you take C130 prior to attempting C131 although it is not a requirement.

Level 3
Level one and two requirements plus successful completion of CIP course: C132.

Once you've passed your licensing course exam and received your licence, you can apply for credit for C11.
